2012 marks the incept year for the m_moriabc project, but the work carried out during this period follows a common thread- an unbroken line of continuous inquiry traced back to earlier undertakings including Evoluzione, Avantindietro, Linea, Sartoria and Carpe Diem. Over the subsequent 7 years, the three base last forms representative of past, present and forward-looking idea-shapes were rigorously experimented upon, put through a myriad of formal exercises, permutations, refinements. These affected everything - from last shape revisions and upper pattern developments to packaging and presentation format, including traveling exhibitions and large-scale installations. With the completion of m_moriabc in 2019, a selection from its 33 shoe_objects are now offered to the public.These contain the ultimate set of refinements and serve as the project’s concrete artifact. The research has since moved on past the formal constraints of the m_moriabc project. It persists through vn0ra. Even now the work continues.
Somehow the “ self punishment ” of working on the solo project m_moriabc was motivated by the need to find a method of working far from the “ just creation mode ” within an obsessive somehow repetitive and over focused environment of crafters . It helped my learning about facing the given limit in every moment while asking for a need of a technical warping so to bring the revealing object a step forward till the very edge of the now ( the all_in_one technique ) . Then it became more evident to me that when everything is possible and no limits are found/ given , nothing significant , behind the representation of the own personal ego , would really happen . To deeper express the task behind the work I have been trying to self-commit to perform the research developed rather than just presenting it . The time where/ when me and the chariot(s) have been travelling from one continent to another . Unpredictably this approach has been justified only where/ when there was me directly involved . My aim to have a message to share to the people I was meeting while wandering crashed , with the reality of the shop-gallery role . Their way was far different , there was a customer to please , not a person to interact with . But we were talking about objects of a wealthy life , where the value of the money and the ego of the related persons were deeply related . m_moriabc aims not to be time oriented , not drenched into a fashionable atmosphere . It would require to be presented targeting the audience for it and giving more and more attention to the personalised , bespoke aspects . The shop system has failed to execute the curation that a fully bespoke shoe placed at high retail level would have required .

Each pattern - and each shoe_object - is hand-stitched . hand-lasted . hand-hammered and nailed, hand-finished unto the linings . The upper is of genuine shell cordovan . reverse shell cordovan . The lining is of vegetable-tanned calf or vegetable-tanned kudu leather . The sole is of oak bark-tanned calf leather or vegetable-tanned buffalo . The laces are of cotton . in a variety of sizes and patterns. or of hemp .
